The future of the electric car is speeding right towards us, and if we’re not careful, we’ll miss it.
Mariposa, on Highway 140, is the only gateway to Yosemite without a Tesla charging station. Both 41 and 120 have Tesla charging stations. Tenaya Lodge, in Mariposa County has eight in their parking lot, and The Majestic Yosemite Hotel has one in Yosemite Valley.
Unfortunately, if you’re planning your drive to Yosemite, (or in the near future, if your Tesla is planning to drive you to Yosemite) you’re not going to take 140.
**Well, that is about to change.** I’ve just finished negotiating with Tesla, and they are willing to install, for free, Tesla Destination Chargers at any motel in town, and at the Visitor Center, and almost anywhere else that might be interested.
The property owner, or tenant, has to pay for the electricity, but that’s a very small price to pay for the highly affluent customers that a Tesla Destination Charger will bring to Mariposa.
This deal is also valid for all parts of Mariposa County, including communities on 132 and 41.
If you’re interested in finding out more or bringing Tesla charging to your property, please contact Dane (209-966-2456) at the Chamber.
